August has typically marked the beginning of the 'Tougher Hikes' season for myself.  I have spent the Spring and Summer working up my legs, aerobic health, and stamina.  Now it's time to get to tackle some longer hikes and tougher terrain!

With this in mind, I planned at the least a hike of both North and South Kinsman in the Franconia Notch, with a fully intended option of Cannon if I felt up to it.  Beginning my hike, I felt strong and confident in my abilities to pull off the 12 hour, 3 peak option.  However; effects of weather and fatigue dictated a different course of action.  My journey begins at the Basin Parking Lot in the Franconia Notch.  Please see above links starting with Basin-Cascade Trail for the complete details and lots of pictures.
