Welch-Dickey Loop, Snow's Mountain, Waterville Cascades - Waterville Valley, NH
April 19, 2003

Snow's Mountain is currently a Lost Ski Area.  Once operated by Waterville Ski Area during ski season, it now sits defunct during the winter months.  Information on Snow's Mountain's history is available at NELSAP's Snow's Mountain Page.

The reasoning for my expedition to Snow's Mountain is three-fold.  First, I've long been curious about this old Ski Area and have been planning to hike the ski lift for a few years now.  Second, the Welch-Dickey Loop just simply wasn't enough for a day hike...  I needed more!  And finally, rumors of housing developments and construction on Snow's Mountain made a recon mission crucial to capture as much info and pictures as possible before any possible changes in the landscape.  Based on my research, the construction seems mostly to the north of the ski area.  The trails as a whole seem mostly untouched by current construction with some exceptions noted below.  Without further ado, here are the pics!

Wonder what this thing is?
