The Snow Way is an internet based resouce featuring articles, trip reports, pictures, video, and information about skiing in New England. Both lift serviced and back country content is included with a bias towards the soulful and historic aspects of the New England skiing experience.
All content on The Snow Way is created and maintained by the The Snow Way's Author and Founder, Steve Rheaume. All documents on The Snow Way are hand coded utilizing Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and are XHTML 1.0 Strict Compliant ensuring a good browsing experience for all readers.
The Snow Way was developed from the Author's original trip report web site called Skiing New England. The former site had limited content and was mostly focused on trip reports and pictures (all of which are still featured on The Snow Way). As ideas for well writen articles began developing, the need for a more professional and well laid out web site became apparent. TheSnowWay.com domain was obtained and a few redesigns were completed during the Summer of 2005. Minor revisions were done during the 2005-2006 ski season and a major redesign was conducted during the off season of Summer 2006. The Snow Way v3.0 redesign features Strict XHTML 1.0 compliance and Cascading Style Sheets.
The name The Snow Way has it’s routes in the Author’s personal web page called The Way. The name The Way is derived from the rough translation of the Chinese word Tao. Combining The Way with the well known term for crystaline precipitation seemed natural. Please see the Author’s personal web page for more information about the eastern philosophy Taoism if you are so inclined. You can find pictures of the author in action here.
